I’ll admit it: this post is incredibly timely for me.
I recently saw a social drama on Netflix, a documentary drama that explores the potentially addictive features of social media.
Spending 3+ hours a day on Instagram, I was already familiar with the habitual nature of social media apps.
As a result of watching the movie, I immediately deleted the Instagram app from my phone – but not from my computer. I still allow myself to check friends’ posts, or publish my content through my desktop. I just don’t want to get it easily on my phone.
If you like publishing your Instagram content from a computer, you’ll be lucky. Here, we’ll explore how you can post photos and videos from your desktop computer.
Can I post to Instagram from my computer?
Yes, you can post to Instagram from your PC or Mac desktop, or even a browser on your phone instead of an app.
However, Instagram does not offer an official desktop version. Social platforms are primarily used in apps, which means that some features can run off your computer with little difficulty.
That said, it’s possible to post to Instagram from your computer. There are several possible reasons why you might want to do this. One, if you work as your company’s social media manager, it may be easier to upload company posts and videos from your desktop instead of working from your smartphone.
In addition, your company’s files can be easily accessed via desktop rather than mobile. For example, if you use Photoshop to edit company photos, it’s easier to click “Upload” from your desktop when you send the same photo or video to your phone instead. Editing
Alternatively, you might prefer a larger desktop screen. Or, you may not have access to a smartphone so you can’t download the app to your phone.
Whatever the reason, don’t worry – there’s a solution for you. Let’s dive into it.
